Export Stout was brewed in London as early as the late 1700s, it was a form of strong porter. A beer that was brewed with a high gravity and dark malt it was stout meaning strong. London exported large volumes of Export Stout by ship all the way to the Baltic states and further. Today our version takes its inspiration from our favourite London Stouts based on a traditional receipe.

A classic food pairing is with oysters, which would have been an every day food back in the day when Export stout was booming.
